Not Steve Smith or Virat Kohli! Former India captain named James Anderson the best batsman he's ever faced
The great England pacer James Anderson has chosen a previous Indian captain as the greatest batter he has faced in his career, ignoring batting great Virat Kohli and iconic Australian batsman Steven Smith. Anderson is scheduled to play his final Test match for England on Wednesday, July 10. The 41-year-old bowler claims that in his 21–year career, which comes to an end this week, Sachin Tendulkar has been the best hitter he has faced with 700 wickets in 187 Tests played.
Before his final Test match at the Lord’s began, Anderson stated, “The best batter I would have to say is Sachin Tendulkar,” during a Q&A session on Sky Sports Cricket.
In 39 Test matches against India, Anderson has amassed 149 wickets. Tendulkar was dismissed nine times by him.
When asked which bowler he had faced the best in his career, the arm pacer named Glenn McGrath and Dale Steyn.
“Dale Steyn or Glenn McGrath were probably the best bowlers I faced.” Both are difficult to choose from. Both bowlers are world-class, if slightly different,” he remarked.
The all-time leading wicket-taker for England in Tests and ODIs also disclosed that his career’s greatest wicket was taken by former Australian captain Michael Clarke in the 2013 Trent Bridge Test, and his most memorable moment was an 81-run innings against India at the same location.
“Professional accomplishment” His 81 against India at Trent Bridge is the accomplishment of which I am most proud. “I know I should probably take a wicket or bowl better, but I think I still can’t believe I did it,” Anderson remarked after reaching 81 runs at bat. Mrsinghtv.com
