New Delhi:The third edition of the Voice of Global South Summit was held in India today. The event is firmly anchored in the guiding principle enunciated in India’s civic religion—’Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. The summit, no doubt, will resonate with the vision of PM Narendra Modi, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas’, the Ministry of External Affairs said earlier this week.
The conclave seeks to bring together countries of the South on a platform and exchange views on addressing common priorities covering the gamut of vital issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering in this very important meeting.

The third Voice of Global South Summit is themed “An Empowered Global South for a Sustainable Future.” The Summit expands on conversations from earlier editions, considering such global challenges as conflicts, food, and energy security crises, and climate change, which bear more significantly on developing nations.

The Ministry of External Affairs said invitations to the event were extended to all countries of the Global South. At the summit, deliberations would remain ongoing pertaining to confronting challenges and designing the future of the Global South, more particularly the developmental areas.

The VOGSS(Voise of gloabl south summit) is being held in virtual mode with various sessions. These have been led by leaders and ministers. The inaugural session was hosted by Prime Minister Modi at the Head of State/Government level, on the overarching theme of the summit.

There will be ten Ministerial Sessions covering a wide range of priority issues relevant to the Global South in Voice of Global South Summit . These ministerial sessions will consider foreign policy, health, youth engagement, trade, digital public infrastructure, finance, global governance, sustainable energy, education, and climate change.

The first and second Voice of Global South Summit were also held on a virtual platform in India in January and November 2023, respectively. Attendance of more than 100 countries in both summits held earlier, whose gains were adopted in deliberations and decisions taken at the G-20 Summit during the presidency of India.
