Bomb threat at 100 Delhi, Noida schools, sources say emails sent from Russia
After receiving bomb threats via email, police said they had checked over 100 schools in Delhi and Noida and found nothing untoward.
On Wednesday morning, an email containing a bomb threat was sent to about 100 schools in Delhi and two schools in Noida, resulting in widespread evacuations. The Ministry of Home Affairs declared that the emails seemed to be a hoax as worried parents gathered outside the schools.
Delhi Police added that they had thoroughly inspected every school that had received a bomb threat and had discovered nothing. According to Delhi Police’s Special CP (Crime), Ravinder Yadav, various hospitals on Tuesday also received emails of the same nature.
The Delhi Fire Service, bomb disposal teams, and bomb detection teams were dispatched to schools as police received dozens of complaints regarding the bomb threat.
Among the 100 schools that received the threat were the Dwarka and Vasant Kunj units of Delhi Public School (DPS), Mother Marry School in East Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School, Amity School in Pushp Vihar, and DAV School in South West Delhi. DPS and Apeejay School in Noida also received comparable threats.

According to reports, an initial investigation revealed that the emails were sent from a Russian IP address. Delhi Police believed that a VPN might be used to hide the IP address.
“The IP address used to send the emails has a server located overseas. The IP address has Russian language detected in it, according to sources.
In relation to the matter, an investigation is in progress.

The emails seemed to be a hoax, according to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs, thus there was no need to become alarmed.
“There’s no reason to freak out. It looks like the emails are scams. The statement stated that the Delhi Police and security agencies are following protocol and taking the appropriate actions.

A bomb threat was received by Delhi Public School, RK Puram, earlier in February of this year. Police searched the area, but they found nothing untoward.
