Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine is the follow-up to the Deadpool movies from 2016 and 2018. Marvel Comics characters are included in this American superhero film from 2024, starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
India saw the film’s premiere on July 26. On social media, the initial public reviews were shared. Let’s examine a few of those.
One viewer stated, “The film immerses you in the action from the very beginning (literally), and then it switches back and forth in inventive and surprising ways to slowly unspool the story of this insane – but oddly charming – antihero.”
“This film truly is a gem. Deadpool is a hilarious and incredibly engaging film that seamlessly combines humor and seriousness. It’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen, but it also has moments when it’s really endearing,” another reviewer said.
“A fantastic film. The film is witty, thrilling, action-packed, full of feelings, and a love story. One user wrote, “Just Bang on, this movie is the complete package of entertainment and enjoyment.”
One commenter said, “Cool. Occasionally, lengthy. lighthearted humor. Excellent use of cameos. A tribute to the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Grant were outstanding. Despite a few small issues, the movie is fantastic.
“Among the top three MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) opening scenes is the one from Deadpool and Wolverine. I was truly amazed by how incredibly amazing that was,” a fan commented.
The Tamil and Telugu versions of the film have been released in India. There is a Bollywood version as well.
Wolverine & Deadpool: Box office projections
According to Deadline, Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to make $35 million at this point, but on release day, it may bring in as much as $40 million (₹335 crore). With a total earnings of nearly $31 million (₹260 crore), the Hollywood production would rank among the top nine preview evenings ever.
The movie has already surpassed Deadpool 2’s record for the highest R-rated preview, which it set in 2018 with $18.6 million (₹155 crore). According to the magazine, Deadpool 2 made $53 million (₹443 crore) on Friday; previews on Thursday contributed 35% of the movie‘s $125.5 million (₹1,050 crore) three-day total.
