A staff member at Thane school has been accused of molesting two girls and has been taken into custody.
Thane School Molestation: The attack took place on the night of August 12–13, as the girls were heading to the restroom. Furious about what happened, demonstrators halted the local trains at Badlapur railway station.

In a troubling incident in Maharashtra’s Thane District, two three-year-old girls attending pre-primary classes at a co-ed school in Badlapur were reportedly sexually assaulted by a male member of the cleaning staff in the girls‘ restroom. Authorities have taken action by filing a case and apprehending the suspect.
The incident took place on the night of August 12–13, while the girls were heading to the restroom.
The court has ordered that Akshay Shinde, the accused, be held in police custody for three days.
On Friday night, the girls’ parents lodged a complaint, leading to the arrest of the suspect by the police.
The event sparked massive demonstrations throughout Badlapur, as furious protesters halted the local train at the Badlapur railway station.
Upon discovering that their daughters had been sexually assaulted, furious parents, joined by several community members, hurried to the police station to file a complaint. However, senior police inspector Shubhada Shitole reportedly stalled the investigation, even though it fell under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act. As a result, the inspector was swiftly reassigned.
In the meantime, the school administration has placed the principal, the class teacher, and the staff in charge of transporting the children on suspension.
