Reddit fixes a bug that affected thousands of users.
The social media platform’s status page said that there was a “degraded performance” at 4:16 PM ET, and Reddit recognized it at 4:45 PM ET.
Reddit, a popular social media platform, experienced a global outage that left thousands of users experiencing “server error” messages. On Wednesday, for almost 45 minutes, the message “Try again later” was displayed.
The Verge reports that at 4:16 PM ET, the social media platform’s status page indicated that there was a “degraded performance” on the site. The Reddit team then confirmed the issue at 4:45 PM ET, stating that “a fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results.”
This is a similar issue which Reddit users faced in April when “try again later” messages popped up on the social media platform’s site due to a back-end issue which plunged Reddit into a complete offline mode.

Reddit has explained in a statement to Reuters that the problem impacting users has been fixed. Reddit is well-known for its “subreddit,” where users discuss a variety of topics. The website depends on advertising for its revenue.
“Earlier today, we shipped an update that unintentionally impacted platform stability,” the business stated. We have applied a fix and resumed operations.
As of 04:09 PM ET, Downdetector, a website that records outages by compiling user replies, had analyzed 152,982 reported outages in the US.
From a business perspective, Reddit has been dealing with AI bots, and to address this problem, it has agreements with OpenAI. With a $6.5 billion total valuation, the company also just launched its first public offering (IPO).
