Who is the principal accused? In the 'rape & murder' case against RG Kar Medical College, is he a Chef, security, community volunteer?

medical college

Sanjay Roy, the suspect detained on Saturday in connection with the postgraduate trainee doctors death, was known to interns and students at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital as a cook. However, a few years ago, he vanished from the university.

Sanjay Roy had vanished from the RG Kar Medical College Hospital, according to an intern who wished to remain anonymous. And in September of last year, he made his way back to campus.

The intern told The Telegraph Online, “When he returned, he identified himself as a volunteer police officer and had easy access to all the wards and rooms in the hospital and college.” He frequently kept watch outside the trauma ward and the special emergency gate. We learned from our seniors that he was a cook till a few years ago.”

An event involving Sanjay Roy from the previous year was remembered by another former student of RG Kar Medical College.

“I was working as an intern in the trauma department of RG Kar Medical College Hospital in November or December. Soutaj Biswas, who is currently affiliated with the Calcutta Medical College, recalled that one evening “this man came in a drunken state with some minor abrasions on his left hand.”

Speaking to The Telegraph Online, a second postgraduate trainee claimed to be acquainted with both Sanjay Roy and the victim from their time spent volunteering in the community. But they had never witnessed him acting inappropriately or while intoxicated.

“He usually worked at the trauma department gate,” the trainee, who wished to remain anonymous, stated.

Sanjay Roy was taken into custody in relation to the murder on Saturday morning. Later this afternoon, the extra chief judicial magistrate’s court at Sealdah remanded him to 14 days of police prison. When the accused was brought before the magistrate, he did not have a representative present.

There was no CCTV footage from the seminar hall where the victim had gone to sleep. However, Sanjay Roy was captured on another camera outside the department store. Police sources claim that the accused was wearing headphones with a Bluetooth connection when he entered the building. When he emerged over thirty minutes later, the headphones were gone.

He left the college approximately, at 11 pm and get drunk after that and came again after 5 hours later.

A headphone that was found on the seminar hall floor next to the victim’s partially clothed body led to Sanjay Roy’s arrest for questioning on Friday night.

When asked if the culprit had confessed, Vineet Goyal, the chief of the city police, refrained from answering directly during his earlier media appearance.

Strong complicity is present in the accused’s case. He is an extremely serious criminal, Goyal declared.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, had stated that she was open to a CBI investigation if the family requested one in an interview with the news channel ABP Ananda on Saturday morning.
