Review of "Double iSmart": Sanjay Dutt and Ram Pothineni deliver a high-octane performance
This popular science fiction film, helmed by Puri Jagannath and starring Sanjay Dutt and Ram Pothineni, is a delightful watch.
The entire story is revealed to the audience in a single statement made by Ram Pothineni’s character in Double iSmart, iSmart Shankar. “Two minds, one body,” declares Ram, who portrays the part with a great deal of style and panache. The gang reunites for yet another thrilling sci-fi adventure, which is an action-packed spiritual sequel to Puri Jagannath’s iSmart Shankar (2019).
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt makes his Telugu film debut with this picture, and he plays the part brilliantly. Sanjay Dutt and Ram Pothineni carry this movie, which makes it enjoyable to watch. Ram is a dynamic and nimble lead character with excellent action scenes and dancing moves.
Now let’s discuss the plot. An worldwide drug cartel led by Big Bull (Sanjay Dutt), who is based in Argentina, intends to cause a civil war in India in order to establish a market for narcotics and weaponry. He believes that India is the safest place on Earth for all types of criminal activity, and he would destroy anyone who gets in the way of his ambitions. However, he receives an unexpected glioma diagnosis (brain tumor). He would do everything it takes to prolong his life because he wants to see his purpose completed. Working with Dr. Thomas (Makarand Deshpande), who has been conducting experiments on “memory transfers” between humans, Bently (Bani J), his assistant, discovers a solution. It goes without saying that Bently choose iSmart Shankar for this task and succeeds with it.
The remainder of the story is around whether Shankar loses his memory of the past, whether Big Bull uses him to ruin the country, or whether the hero faces Big Bull. Supporting him is Shankar’s lover Jannath (Kavya Thapar), who travels from Delhi to Hyderabad for a mission. Puri Jagannath, who wrote and directed the movie, makes sure that there is never a dull moment in it, although he might have done better by not including an obvious joke track with an established performer like Ali. The RAW head, portrayed by seasoned actor Sayaji Shinde, is determined to capture Big Bull alive, but it’s puzzling that such a strong character verges on humor.
One of the best things about this movie is the BGM by composer Mani Sharma, and the album includes two dance-worthy songs. Double iSmart is a commercial package that combines strong entertainment, motherly sentiment, action-packed action, and mainstream appeal. A pan-Indian movie that was released in several languages, it hits the correct notes with the general public.
Right now, Double iSmart is playing in theaters.
