In Ukraine, a poignant martyrologist exhibition has been established to honor the memory of children who have tragically lost their lives amid the ongoing conflict, which has seen fierce fighting erupt in various cities across the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, paid tribute at the Martyrs’ exhibition dedicated to children in Kyiv, emphasizing that “Conflict is especially tragic for young children.” Modi’s visit to Kyiv came after a lengthy seven-hour journey from Poland, where he engaged in discussions with President Zelensky. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has persisted for over two and a half years.

A martyrologist exhibition has been established to honor the memory of children who tragically lost their lives amid the ongoing conflict, which has seen fierce battles erupt in various cities across Ukraine.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep sympathy for the families of the children who tragically lost their lives, stating in a post on X, “I hope they discover the strength to navigate their sorrow,” as he honored the memory of the young victims of the conflict.

The two leaders are set to engage in both private discussions and group meetings, concentrating on exploring avenues for a negotiated resolution to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Zelensky of Ukraine honored the memory of the children who lost their lives by placing a toy as a tribute. In a heartfelt video shared on X, President Zelensky emphasized, “Children in every nation have the right to live safely. We must make this a reality.”

Since the onset of the conflict on February 24, 2022, India has consistently promoted dialogue and diplomacy as essential tools for resolution. The Prime Minister has repeatedly emphasized that we are living in a time that should prioritize peace, stating that “this is not the era of war.” In a joint statement with the Polish Prime Minister, he highlighted the importance of engaging in discussions to settle international disputes.

Prime Minister Modi’s most recent encounter with President Zelensky took place in June during the G7 summit held in Apulia, Italy. During their discussion, he assured the Ukrainian leader that India remains committed to doing all it can to foster a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that the path to peace lies in “dialogue and diplomacy.”

He conveyed to Mr. Zelensky that India is committed to a “human-centric” approach in seeking a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. During their discussion, the Ukrainian president extended an invitation to the prime minister to visit Kyiv. This upcoming trip to Ukraine follows closely on the heels of his prominent visit to Russia about six weeks ago, where he engaged in in-depth discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, primarily aimed at finding a way to conclude the ongoing conflict.
