AI won't end jobs, according to Infosys CEO Salil Parekh
Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, believes AI will help companies expand, and he does not anticipate any job losses as a result of the technology.
In an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18 in May, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh stated that the company is not considering job layoffs as a result of GenAI, unlike other companies in the sector.
At the time, he was quite clear about his belief that all technologies will coexist in huge organizations. “We will be serving the world’s large organizations and over the next several years, we’ll have more and more people joining us who become experts in generative AI,” he said in an interview with Mrsinghtv.com.
In a recent August 26 PTI interview, Parekh mentioned that generative AI is being well received by clients and likened its acceptance to the past adoption curves observed for digital and cloud technologies.
Thus, at this point, I believe that rather than anything else, (AI) technology will aid in the further growth of business. With these cutting-edge technology, we don’t envision any layoffs at Infosys,” he stated.
He emphasized that the business is actually still hiring more people.
Parekh stated that Infosys is putting a lot of work on generative AI with the goal of being an AI-first company.
The corporation has added the most recent Generative AI courses to its global digital reskilling program. The most recent annual report from Infosys states that Generative AI elements have been added to the company’s platforms.
